Leadership Programs

Undergraduate Students

The Center offers undergraduate students two choices that are not mutually exclusive: Paradigms & Strategies of Leadership as an introductory course and the Leadership Certificate.

If you’re interested in meeting with and hearing from extraordinary leaders, and if you’d like to learn about the fundamental challenges and concepts that underlie effective leadership, each Fall Quarter we offer LDRSHP 204—Paradigms & Strategies of Leadership. The course is designed to help you become a leader on campus, in your community, and for your chosen profession.

If you’d like to take your learning one step further, The Center for Leadership also offers the Undergraduate Leadership Program (ULP). Here, you can earn an academic Leadership Certificate as part of your studies at Northwestern. Your Certificate coursework includes the opportunity for you to take on a major leadership project of your own design. You’ll also learn more about the major theories, thinkers and frameworks that leaders use every day, and take an elective course that’s of particular interest to you.

Graduate Students

The Center for Leadership offers a competitive Fellowship in Leadership for Ph.D. students and for high potential staff who work with Northwestern students.

Specific information and applications for the following year are posted on this page at the beginning of the Spring Quarter. Please email Megan Everett if you would like to be notified when this material is available.
